Cordyceps

CordycepsResearchers have identified more than 400 species of Cordyceps. It is now one of the most highly priced mushrooms and is regularly consumed for its medicinal value.

Cordyceps generally attacks larvae of various insects and then grows around its body, therefore forming its typical elongated shape. Its use is especially popular in traditional Chinese medicine.1

In recent years it has received massive attention from modern researchers. They have identified numerous beneficial compounds contained in the mushroom. It is rich in cordycepin and its derivatives (polysaccharides, ergosterol and glycoproteins). Therefore, it has wide-ranging health benefits.2

Due to over-harvesting, finding Cordyceps in nature is challenging, and therefore it is now one of the most expensive mushrooms to purchase. In addition, cultivating this mushroom is quite difficult. Some Cordyceps supplements may contain other additives or fillers for cost-savings. Therefore, it Is suggested that you should read the product label carefully before buying any Cordyceps product.
